Notes of the Meeting of Thorpe St Peter Parish Council held at the School Room, Thorpe Fendyke Methodist Chapel, at 7.30pm on Thursday 22nd May 2025.

Meeting Started at 19.30

1.    Elect a Chair and Vice Chair
a.    Appointment of Chairperson –
It was Resolved: that Mr. J. Taylor will be Chairperson for 2025 - 2026
b.    Appointment of Vice Chairperson – It was Resolved that Mrs. J. Banham will be Vice Chair for 2025-2026

2.    To note any apologies and accept valid reasons for absence.
None

3.    To receive declarations of interest
None

4.    To receive and approve the minutes of the meeting that was held on 15th January 2025
•    Mrs. J. Banham was present at the meeting, but her name was omitted from the attendance list.
It was RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday, 15 January 2025, be approved for signing as a true and accurate record.

5.    To receive any updates from the previous meeting
•    The hedges located between the train station and The Three Tunns remain overgrown. 

6.    Planning from ELDC
a.    To consider planning applications validated since the last meeting of the council.

None
b.    To note planning decisions received since the last meeting of the council.

7.    Receive and comment on any Highways Issues
It was Resolved: The clerk to email Highways to find out any roadworks in the area.

8.    To receive Clerk report on correspondence received and consider any recommendations.
•    Thorpe St Peter Churchyard – Glendale has completed the grass cutting to a high standard. It was Resolved: that the Clerk will email the Rural Dean regarding the churchyard not being cut.
•    Wreaths – For VE Day, Mr. Taylor represented Thorpe St Peter Parish Council by laying a wreath at the Buttercross. The VJ Day wreath is scheduled to be laid on 15th August at 11am in Wainfleet Market Place. It was Resolved: that Mr. Joe Taylor will lay the wreath on VJ Day.


9.    Reports
a.    River Steeping – The riverbank from Crows Bridge to Wainfleet Bank has been surveyed. The relief bank, as well as the elevations of both banks, have also been assessed.
b.    Emergency Plan – Thorpe Methodist Chapel has been designated as our rest point. Mr. Taylor is currently in possession of the emergency box. A future practice session for the emergency plan will be scheduled.

10. Finance 
a.    Financial Report for 2024/2025 and sign AGAR form
Our annual Income for 2024/2025 was £2339.00 and Thorpe st Peter Parish council spent £2259.
It was resolved: for the Chair to sign the AGAR form on behalf of Thorpe St Peter Parish Council.
b.    To review and consider payment of accounts. 
It was Resolved: That Council approve the following payment of accounts.

•    Laura Willoughby – Clerk Salary - £150.00
•    Thorpe Fendyke Methodist Chapel – Room Hire – £30
•    Zurich Municipal – Insurance - £194.25
•    Royal British Legion – VE & VJ Day Wreaths - £55
